SALUTE TO SERVICE WEEK
In advance of the team’s Salute to Service
game on Nov. 12 against the Los Angeles
Chargers, Jacksonville Jaguars players, coaches,
cheerleaders and staff participated in numerous
military-focused initiatives throughout the
community during the week of Nov. 6.
The NFL and its clubs continue their history of
honoring the military community with the sixth
annual Salute to Service campaign, which honors
and supports veterans, active-duty servicemen
and women and their families.
Monday: Stars and Strikes Bowling Event
Jaguars players, Jaxson de Ville and THE ROAR
hosted a bowling night for 200+ active duty
military members and their families.
Tuesday: NAS JAX Base Visit
Several Jaguars Players and THE ROAR interacted
with service members while touring the base,
signed autographs and shared a meal together.
Wednesday: Movie Night with Malik
Jaguars DL Malik Jackson and the Jaguars
Foundation partnered with Florida Survivor
Outreach Services for Freedom for Freedom and
the National Guard and secured a private movie
theater screening of the new movie “Thor:
Ragnarok” for over 125 guests.
Thursday: Pros vs G.I. Joes
Jacksonville Jaguars partnered with the Joint
Forces Initiative nonprofi t organization and
connected Jaguars players to play live video
games with our active-duty troops deployed
stateside and overseas. Using today’s best
technology, the Jaguars and 20 troops connected
live via internet and webcam in a video game
challenge.
Friday: Maximizing LinkedIn for Veterans
The Jacksonville Jaguars hosted veterans from
The Wounded Warrior Project and K9’s For Warriors
for a class on maximizing LinkedIn for veterans.
These classes are specifi cally designed to help
employers to identify current and former service
members for vet preference in hiring.
Saturday: City of Jacksonville
Veterans Day Parade
The Jaguars Foundation sponsored the Mayor’s
breakfast prior to the start of the parade and also
partnered with the City of Jacksonville to sponsor
a fl oat in the Veterans Day Parade.
Saturday: St. Michael’s Soldiers
at Fields Cadillac
The Jaguars partner with St. Michael’s Soldiers
nonprofi t group to assemble and ship care
packages to deployed servicemen and women.
Sunday: The team has partnered with the Greater
Jacksonville Area USO to send 7,000 active,
retired, and reservist military personnel and their
families to the Salute to Service Game on Nov. 12.
