Never has an all-out global war broken out since then but conflicts still haunt numerous nations and communities. For them, the wrongs are being constantly repeated. Some conflicts are caused by historical feud. For instance, the civil conflict between ethnic groups in Myanmar has been going on for nearly 70 years. The feud can be traced back to the 19th century or even further. As scholars conduct more studies on peace, the concept of negative peace and positive peace have been widely acknowledged. Negative peace is simply the ceasing of violence. It does not solve the root causes of conflicts. Positive peace considers the needs and dignity of all stakeholders to create sustainable peace.
