A LETTER FROM GARY Dear Friends of GGGA, It is hard to believe we are already six weeks into training! Over the last six weeks, we have accomplished a great deal. As you know, we started the year by assessing every student’s physical, mental, technical, and on-course abilities. From the information my coaching teaming has gathered, we begin building a personal development plan for each student. As part of each personal plan, I work with every student on an individual basis. I begin the process by taking video of the student so I can analyze the data and explain to them what we are trying to improve. It is key for them to understand, in the most simple way possible, what will help them improve and how we are going to do so. Every swing is unique and so is the plan to help them improve. I focus on evaluating each student’s irons, then move to drivers and finally to putting with each student’s lead coach at my side. We all know and understand that every student is unique, so it is vital that their fitness, mental and technical coaching team is on the same page. To support these efforts, we also incorporate individualized fitness training, which helps accelerate the physical changes necessary to make the improvement to their swing. I want every GGGA student to have the personal support that they need to help them make improvements. The key to helping a student reach their full potential is to understand the WHY of their personal plan. I focus a great deal of time on “showing” and not “telling” our students. Nothing brings me greater pleasure than to see a big smile on a student’s face after they master a new skill. We are off to a great start this year and I can’t wait to keep the momentum going forward! All the best,
