THE CLASS
OF
2018
At the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy, success is measured
not only on a scorecard or even in wins, it is measured in the
intangible efforts that our student athletes put forward when
they return from a tournament and study long into the night
for the next day’s test. We celebrate our 2018 seniors and
post-graduates and their achievements!
TIFFANY ARAFI
SWITZERLAND
Tiffany came to GGGA in the fall of 2017,
as a rising Senior. She desired a better
training environment, great coaching,
to be around other golfers on the path
to competitive golf, and to improve her
English. While at practice, Tiffany loves
listening to The Weekend! Her favorite
movie is "Bagger Vance" because of the
scene when Matt Damon is ready to give
up and Will Smith explains that life is like
golf, you can't give up. Tiffany will attend
Coastal Carolina University this fall.
ZUBIN CHANDRA
SINGAPORE
Zubin’s love of the game and competition
keeps him on the course most weekends.
He enjoys working out, spending time
with friends, and listening to music. He
knows the lyrics to just about every song
out there! Zubin will spend the next two
years in military service in Singapore prior
to returning to the U.S. to pursue his
degree in business and play college golf.
He dreams of being a professional golfer
or the CEO of a major company one day.
ISABELLA CARDENAS GIRON
COLUMBIA
Isabella has been at GGGA for 3 years.
Isa started playing golf when she was six
years old. When she came to the U.S. as
a Freshman, her goals were to improve
her English and work on her golf game.
The thing Isa loves the most about GGGA
is making friends from around the world,
learning so much about other cultures,
becoming more independent, and making
her game good enough to play golf at
Tulane University.
DIEGO BUTTIRONI
ITALY
Diego moved from his small town in Italy
to GGGA so he could study and improve
his game. Diego is a technician and can
regularly be found studying the game
of golf, the mechanics, and working out
in the gym to aid his game on the golf
course. Diego will attend Palm Beach
Atlantic University while continuing to
do everything possible to achieve his
dream of playing on the European Tour
one day.
UGEN DORJI
BHUTAN
Ugen came to GGGA as a Freshman.
Ugen says he has matured at GGGA,
learned to use failures to motivate him
to improve! Ugen wants to be the first
professional golfer from Bhutan. He loves
to sing and dance and has an interest in
both guitar and fashion. His interest in
fashion has led him to Savannah College
of Art and Design. If you don't find him on
the fairway in the future, look to find his
designs on the runway in Milan!
WILLIAM C. HARTFORD
USA
William came to GGGA to get better at
golf, gain some maturity, and be prepared
to leave home after high school and go to
college. William likes adventurous activities,
but more importantly, he loves the com-
pany that he shares the adventure with....
whoever it is! William is fully committed to
learning French and has even gone so far
as to have his phone only speak French to
him. William will be attending Palm Beach
Atlantic University this fall.
