2017 GOVERNOR’S AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
Each year, the Kansas Department of Commerce recognizes Kansas companies who have positively impacted
their communities and local workforce. Kansas businesses continue to be the foundation of our economy,
communities, and overall quality of life. Business Appreciation Month is the state's way of recognizing Kansas
businesses for all they do to keep Kansas strong.
Winners are selected by reviewing information including: employee training and retention programs; expansion
projects and capital investments; economic development within the state; woman or minority ownership;
leadership program participation; and school and community involvement through volunteer efforts and
sponsorship.
The state’s top nominees are invited to the Team Kansas awards banquet where the Governor’s Award of
Excellence is announced. This year the Governor has selected 19 regional winners and 44 merit winners from
all seven regions of the state.
We are thrilled to announce that Home Town health Care, LLC was one of only three regional winners for
the Southeast Kansas region to win the Award of Excellence.
Home Town Health Care, whose home office is located in Fredonia KS, currently has six offices within the 27
Counties we are approved to serve. Home Town Health Care is a complete in-home service provider, offering
home care, home health, and hospice. Our home care (homemaker) services assist with the client’s daily
activities and keeping the client’s home in order. Our home health service provides skilled health care to our
patients in attempt to keep them out of the hospital or nursing home. Our hospice serves terminally-ill patients
and focuses on quality-of-life instead of preventative measures. Home Town Health Care believes that the end
of life deserves the same respect and celebration as the beginning of life.
