The Grove City Food Pantry & Emergency Services Inc. WE:LEAD BUSINESS FORUM The Grove City Food Pantry & Emergency Services was started in the late 1980s and was overseen by the Southwest Christian Ministerial Association and housed in the basement of the Grove City United Methodist Church. In 2007, the pantry formed its own Board of Directors and received its own 501c3 tax exempt status. The Grove City Food Pantry is an all-volunteer organization with over 100 volunteers including three managers. They serve the residents of 43123, 43126 and 43146 zip codes. In June of 2011, they moved into their current location, 2710 Columbus St. (the former church parsonage). By moving to their current location, they were able to more than double the number of families served. Learn about the 2017 Business Forum, and recap the 2016 Business Forum Some of the topics last year's attendees could learn about were starting a business in Grove City, social media, coaching your- self in business and more. In 2016, they provided 3,756 families with a three-day supply of food, which included 4,401 children. They also helped 56 families with utility shut offs or rent evictions. All of this is made possible with the support of food and monetary donations from the local residents, churches and businesses of their dedicated volunteers. Thank you to all who attended the Taste of Grove City & Business Expo. The proceeds allow us to make our annual gift to the Grove City Food Pantry. Food donations can be dropped off at the pantry Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. or the last two Saturdays of each month from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Monetary donations can be mailed to 2710 Columbus St., or donated through their website www.grovecityfoodpantry.com with PayPal. Barb Smoot, President and CEO of Women for Economic and Leadership Development (WELD), is this year's Keynote Speaker.
