Impacts In 2016, Center for Girls began, continued, and completed a variety of projects and programs with the help of our fantastic donors and supporters. Women for Change ONGOING Diakonia Goal | Empower women to eradicate gender-based violence in their communities. Project | Trained 32 participants on local and national laws, data collection, GBV emergency support, and more. The women successfully gathered data on their communities and conducted mini projects in their sub-district aimed at combating financial abuse. Impact | The participants are now engaged members of the WFC Network, with two women elected to leadership positions in their communities. They successfully created a small business as their mini project, which has increased their status and bargaining power within their family and village structures. Project | Approximately 300 stu- dents in nine schools benefited from four curriculums relating to child rights, protection, and safety. 35 student leaders were selected to work with their teachers to put into effect skills trainings, workshops, and events to educate others. understand child protection and child rights. The teachers and administration are equipped with the knowledge to better identify and respond to children facing abuse, exploitation, and other issues.
