Women of Aspenland
The Women of Aspenland is a documentation and exhibit project begun by the Central Alberta Museum Network (CARMN)
in 1996. The purpose of the project is to tell and preserve the
stories of women in our communities who represent who we
have been, who we are, and who we would like to be. Each
woman’s life story reflects some of the diverse traditions that
shape our collective identity as a community. The goal of the
project is to document women’s history and understand the
important roles of women in our community over time. Several
museums across Central Alberta continue this fine tradition of
preserving and celebrating local women’s history by inducting
members of their community into the Women of Aspenland
hall of fame (www.unlockthepast.ca/24/people/list).
