Our year ahead

With the end of 2016 fast approaching the team at Parkers are spending some time reflecting on what has been an exciting and varied year .
The ‘ crowning ’ moments must surely have been the arrival of Her Majesty The Queen to unveil the magnificent Queen Mother Statue and the completion of Strathmore House .
Parkers is particularly proud to have been the sole selling agent for this imposing building that received an enormous amount of interest both locally and nationally . We are proud to report that all residents are now happily in situ and enjoying their new homes . Other exciting things we have had the pleasure to be a part of include all of our Poundbury sales and many local sponsorships and charity fundraising events including the Tough Mudder obstacle course for Help the Heroes .
Naturally we are turning our attention to the coming festive season . Parkers will be hosting its annual drinks evening on Thursday 15th December at the office on Peverell Avenue West between 5pm and 7pm , which residents will receive their invitation to shortly . As always , we would be delighted to see you . This year we are pleased to be raising money via our annual raffle for the charity KD UK and would love to raise as much money as possible to help this fantastic cause . Kennedy ’ s Disease is a rare inherited neuromuscular disorder also known as X-linked recessive bulbospinal neuropathy or X-linked spinal and bulbar atrophy . It is an adult onset , progressive disorder , characterised by the degeneration of lower motor neurons within the spinal cord and brainstem . This causes progressive weakening and wasting of the muscles particularly in the arms and legs . It is estimated that 1 in 40,000 people have this genetic defect and because it is relatively rare , Kennedy ’ s Disease is often initially misdiagnosed or goes undiagnosed for years . There is no cure for Kennedy ’ s disease and no current treatment available .
2017 looks set to offer as varied a year as 2016 with many potential opportunities , challenges and changes . Market fluctuations , economic climate , political changes and new building opportunities are all expected to influence and shape the property market . We watch eagerly and with pride as this hugely successful and pioneering development takes further shape . As well as the steady stream of resale properties , Parkers has recently launched the ZeroC ‘ Discount to Open Market ’ builds in Mark House , Vickery Court .
This development is an excellent opportunity for buyers to get on the property ladder by purchasing a home offered with a discount on the full market value of the property .
Having been part of a previous scheme , the team at Parkers are prepared for the popularity and keen interest they will attract . Please contact our office on 01305 340680 should you wish to discuss eligibility or your interest further . We also recommend you take an informal consultation with our recommended Mortgage Consultants Ross Appleby and Ben Old to check your lending arrangements . Both Ross and Ben are well versed with the scheme and the lenders available .
Thank you for your ongoing support and we look forward to welcoming in 2017 .
