BAM Construction working on the school site front of the school overlooking the Great Field . To ease the transition for the children , the construction team from BAM Construction have been visiting the school to talk to the children about the development . Senior Site Manager Simon Box and his assistant ‘ Ivor Goodsite ’ visited the school to give the pupils a good idea of what the school will look like and deliver important safety messages about construction sites . He said : “ We very much hope the children and teachers alike will have an active role in the school build . We will be encouraging the school to make site visits and carry out projects during these exciting new works .” Children from the school who are part of the Digital Leaders Club have placed a timelapse camera on the grounds and are regularly visiting to record progress . Due to the expansion , staff numbers at the school will increase from 70 to between 80- 90 in the next five years .
DORCHESTER ' S SCHOOLS Schools in Dorchester were consistently rated as Outstanding in recent Ofsted Inspections . Children aged four to nine living in and around Poundbury will fall into two catchment schools . Both of the schools in the catchment area have been classified as Outstanding in their last Ofsted reports . The Prince of Wales School celebrated its 20 th anniversary in 2014 with a visit by The Prince of Wales . The three-tier system in Dorchester is highly sought after by parents , therefore the schools can become over subscribed . Serving Poundbury , there are two first schools , then the choice of two middle schools – Dorchester Middle School and St . Osmund ’ s CE Middle School . Teenagers aged 13-18 in Dorchester attend The Thomas Hardye School . This highly sought after school was judged by Ofsted inspectors to be Outstanding in all areas of their recent inspection in 2015 .
