1987/1988
1987 – 1989
Michael Hendler’s support, via Reebok, extends to sponsoring Network’s F.I.T Aerobic Tours around the
country. These tours are continuing education workshops for aerobics instructors who are desperate for new
choreography, and each participant receives a free pair of Reebok shoes! Headlined by aerobics professionals
such as Lexie Williams, David Hatch, Matt Church, Jeff Ahern, Lisa Chivers, Michael Betts and David Allan,
these workshops – which are usually sold out – travel to metro and regional venues in every state. David
Hatch recollects times when, due to airline strikes, they had to travel on Airforce planes!
1988
After the success of the spur-of-the-moment, makeshift convention in 1987, Network decides to run a ‘proper’
convention on the Gold Coast. Delivered in conjunction with the Reebok National Aerobic Championships,
which are being held at Dreamworld, Network ‘88 sees around 500 delegates attend. The host hotel, The
