A Renewal of Vows ceremony is an ideal
opportunity for any couple, whether married or
in a civil partnership, to rekindle the flame. No
matter how long you have been together, you
can celebrate again.
A ceremony is often arranged to mark a milestone
anniversary, but can also be used to reaffirm your
commitment to each other following a period of
difficulty such as a long illness. If you were married
or registered your civil partnership abroad, then
a renewal of vows ceremony is an opportunity to
involve family or friends who were unable to join you.
Ceremonies can be held at any of Richmond’s
approved venues. If you were married or registered
your civil partnership in a Richmond venue, how
lovely to return to the place where your journey as
a couple began. If you wish to hold your ceremony
at any other venue, please telephone us to discuss.

Each ceremony is individually tailored to your
needs, and you are encouraged to personalise the
ceremony content through promises, readings
and music that have special meaning for you. You
may choose to exchange new rings or rededicate
your original rings, and you can acknowledge
family members who have supported you over
the years. You may prefer to have a ceremony for
just yourselves, in the presence of the celebrant the choice is yours. We provide the script and the
celebrant.
Please note that the ceremony has no legal
standing and the ceremony content must be
completely secular, and cannot contain any
religious vows, promises, readings or music.
