How quickly can I get married? • Your Notice of marriage has to be displayed in a public area for 28 days before the event • Book your Notice of Marriage appointment online a minimum of one month before the event • Only in exceptional circumstances can the 29 day period be reduced, for example where the bride or groom is seriously ill. If this is the case, contact us immediately on 0300 126 1000 for advice • If a close relative is seriously ill it may be possible to help but this would be subject to legal restrictions.
