Entrepreneurship & Design
Academy
Dionn Megginson’s story is unique. After
testing out of kindergarten and fifth grade,
she is in sixth grade at just 9 years old.
The future mathematician and her parents
reviewed all the CHISD middle school
options and decided the Permenter academy
was the best fit. “I like taking advanced
classes and all of my teachers,” Dionn says.
The small learning community is close to
home and may help her achieve her greatest
academic goal (so far) — graduating high
school at 14 years old.
How to Enroll
About 100 students are enrolled in each academy. STEAM nights will be held in December at each
campus and will offer a look at student work. The enrollment process for the next school year begins
in January. Go to chisd.net/academies for details.
Collegiate Pathway
College tuition isn’t cheap; multiply it by three and the
dollars really add up. Irisa Jackson has done the math.
She has three boys and enrolled them all in Collegiate
Prep Elementary. If they graduate from Cedar Hill
Collegiate High School, they will earn a high school
diploma and an associate degree at no cost to her.
“This is a program (my children) are going to stick to,”
Jackson says. She has recommended Collegiate to
several families. “I love it. I have not been disappointed.”
How to Enroll
Collegiate Prep, Collegiate Prep Academy and
Collegiate Prep High School prospective parents must
attend an information meeting. Meetings will take place
at the respective campuses. For a list of meeting dates
in January, see the events calendar on page 20.
