CCF WATER SECTOR BREAKFAST
CCF Victoria invited its members to attend our Annual Water Sector Breakfast at Kooyong Lawn & Tennis Club on Friday 2nd September 2016 . This year ’ s event gave participants the opportunity to hear about the future direction of the water sector with respect to long term security of the water supply and associated services for the rapidly increasing metropolitan and regional growth .
Parliamentary Secretary for the Environment , Mr Anthony Carbines opened the event and attendees were exposed to Victoria ’ s ‘ Water Plan ’ which set the strategic directions for all aspects of Water Management in Victoria . The presentation on the Water plan was made by Ms Kate Houghton , Deputy Secretary Water & Catchments , DELWP .
Mr Paul O ’ Donohue , Managing Director Central Highlands Water , also presented on an innovative project and ‘ Proof of Concept ’ on the re-use of water captured from rooftops and stormwater as part of the Ballarat West Employment Zone initative .
2016 CCF PRESIDENT ’ S LUNCH
In keeping with tradition , the 11th Annual CCF President ’ s Lunch was held at Melbourne ’ s home of sport , the MCG .
The event is designed to show our appreciation to those individuals and companies who have supported CCF and the Civil Industry . The following awards were presented :

The Ken Edgley Medal : Individual ( s ), and / or company that have given their time and support to CCF and the industry over an extended period of years :

• Robert Burns – Rocla Pipeline Products
CCF Life Membership was awarded to John Plumridge of Maw Civil who has for over 40 years contributed to the civil construction industry through the many facets of his personal knowledge , skill , dedication and commitment . From the CCF perspective , John has offered his time , knowledge and strong council freely and without question . This commitment to the CCF is clearly demonstrated by John ’ s Victorian Branch involvement at Board level that began in 2001 , spanning some 15 continuous years .
The afternoon was finished by Peter Rowsthorn , one of Australia ’ s most talented performers & comedians and keynote speaker , former VFL / AFL player , Gareth Andrews .
