2016/17 Annual Report
OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS
We acknowledge and congratulate our 2016 Ken Edgley
Award winners in Graeme Smith (G.S. Smith Equipment) –
Business and Robert Burns (Rocla Pipelines) – Individual.
CCF Life Membership was awarded to John Plumridge
(Maw Civil) for his enormous contribution and service to
the Civil Construction sector and CCF at both a State and
National level spanning over 40 years.
On behalf of all at CCF, we congratulate John on this
outstanding achievement and recognition as a ‘CCF Life
Member’.
WHAT’S AHEAD?
While we will commission a State based Infrastructure
Outlook Report with BIS Oxford Economics and finalise
key issues for our advocacy work in the lead up to the 2018
State election, the next 12 months will see us continue with
our transformational journey including the establishment
of a new CCF Victoria organisation structure to deliver our
strategic goals and better serve our members.
The Process Fitness Review conducted during 2016/17
determined what services are valued by members and
what we need to do as a member based organisation
to support delivery. This means CHANGE including new
ways of working, new business processes and a new
service delivery model.
2017/18 will be an exciting phase in CCF’s history as
we enter our 75th year of service to the civil construction
industry. A year to celebrate and recognise the contribution
CCF members have made in building this great State.
A FAREWELL MESSAGE FROM OUR
RETIRING PRESIDENT...
“As recently reported in our 2017 Winter Edition of
the Bulletin magazine, I have now stepped down as CCF
Victoria President to take up a new role with Fulton Hogan,
as CEO of NZ Construction based in Christchurch New
Zealand.
Since stepping into the role as CCF President in 2014,
I have seen the civil construction industry go through
significant challenges … but also optimism. It has been
a period where CCF is recognised by the three tiers of
Government as the pre-eminent source of advice in
relation to civil construction matters and a strong and pro-
active employer group advocating for major infrastructure
development that supports social health and wellbeing of
the wider community.
I wish to use this opportunity to formally thank you all
for the ongoing support you have shown both me and CCF,
and look forward to hearing of the successes this wave of
infrastructure build will bring you all.
I congratulate the new CCF Victoria President, Executive
and Board members to be appointed at the Annual General
Meeting on 1 September 2017, and wish them every success
for the future.
It is a future where the Federation is in all our hands.
A future where we must continue to be relevant to
members …. and a future where we all have a role to
play as ambassadors and advocates in promoting CCF
membership and all that we do for our industry.
I wish you all every success in shaping, developing and
constructing this future not just for today … but for future
generations to come”.
