In July 2016, Seware and Katie, who is the Cayman-based lifestyle blogger behind @lifeshelives, were having a spontaneous mid-week beach day at Rum Point, when Seware mentioned a house down the road he wanted to check out for a potential staycation. Katie had been trying to get Seware to plan a trip with her for months but nothing ever came to fruition. Little did Katie know, Seware had been intentionally avoiding the topic because he didn’t want her to go rogue and book something when he already had an idea of his own. Once they arrived at the house, they took a quick look at the outside of the property but as Katie began heading back to the car, Seware opened the door to the house. Afraid they would be charged with breaking and entering, Katie tried to convince Seware to leave. To her surprise, Seware pulled out a set of keys and sauntered in like he owned the place. He had actually booked the place as a surprise and even packed their bags. An hour afterwards, Chef Remy from Rent-A-Chef showed up to their private oasis to serve them a five- course meal on the beach. Before the third course, the two took a walk on the beach which is when Seware asked Katie to marry him and pulled out a custom ring designed by Leon Megé in Manhattan, NY. The bride and groom envisioned a whimsical wedding on a private tropical beach, and being from the Cayman Islands, they were able to make this vision a reality. The couple’s family and friends flew in from abroad to join them on their special day. Celebrations Ltd provided full event planning services, floral design, and decor and event design for the couple’s special day. The oceanside ceremony took place on a sandy beach peninsula filled with palm trees at The Cottage. The aisle was lined with floral-filled mason jars hanging from shepherd’s hooks. Lanterns and fresh blooms sat on rum barrels at the aisle entrance. The bride and groom were wed under a four-post wooden arbor accented with a corner arrangement of greenery and colorful florals. @ CAY M A N VO WS
