Their romance began at a New Year’s Eve party in 2007 when they kissed at the stroke of midnight. A week later, Simon turned up on Harriet’s doorstep in London, where she was attending university, and he never left. On Christmas Eve 2016, the couple drove their dogs up to Beach Bay under the guise of helping Simon’s parents move furniture for Christmas dinner. Simon proposed on the far end of Beach Bay after suggesting they stop and take the dogs for a walk on the beach. That evening, they attended the annual Christmas Eve party hosted by their close family friends, allowing them to celebrate the engagement with their loved ones. The wedding was held at a private home in Omega Bay, surrounded by gardens filled with lush tropical greenery and a white sandy beachfront littered with palm trees. Since the location was already so beautiful, this allowed the couple to focus on creating small, visual delights to bring their “ethereal chic, with a touch of botanical elegance” vision to life. In the months leading up to the big day, the pair brought back various decor items from abroad, such as raffia placemats, linen napkins, tassel place cards, and tropical throw cushions. They took the time to work out exactly where items would be placed, how the canapés would be plated, and how the tables would be laid out to ensure every moment of the day was perfect and flowed seamlessly. Celebrations Ltd provided day-of coordination, as well as floral and decor design. Buses from Webster’s Tours and a boat from Caribbean Marine Services Ltd. provided transportation to and from the venue.
