- Full Circle Love Story -
MEREDITH AND MAT T FIRST MET while both were on family vacations
at the Grand Cayman Beach Suites in 2012. Meredith had noticed Matt
and his family at the hotel but it wasn’t until Meredith’s mother began
chatting with them by the pool (Matt’s brother, Geoffrey, was wearing
an Ohio University hat and OU is Meredith’s mother’s alma mater) that
the pair first met. After an evening out with the brothers followed by a
few inseparable days to follow, the two families saw a spark between
them. On the last day of vacation, Matt’s sister and mother said good-
bye to Meredith’s mother, joking, “Well, I guess we will see you all at
the wedding.” Little did they know that the two would actually end up
together!
Four years later, while on their first trip abroad to Saint Martin, Matt
proposed. Upon arrival on the island, the two sipped piña coladas and
took a quick nap on the beach. After getting ready for dinner, Meredith
met Matt on the balcony. Matt proceeded to say a few sweet words, but
Meredith was too hungry to listen. It wasn’t until Matt stood up from his
chair that Meredith realized what was happening. It was then that Matt
said to her, “We met on an island, we lived on an island, it only makes
sense to get engaged on an island.”
Since the two first met in Grand Cayman, their love story truly came
full circle with their Cayman wedding. Celebrations Ltd provided plan-
ning services. Ever since the beginning of the planning process, Meredith
made clear that the two most important things to her were: 1. That she
marry Matt, and 2. That she get married barefoot. Thus, getting married
on the beach was an easy decision.
