- From Colorado to Cayman -
J OSEPHINE A ND CH AD MET in 2009 while attending the University of
Colorado in Boulder. The pair were both science majors and lived beside
each other on “the Hill.” When they weren’t busy studying, they went to
concerts, snowboarded, and hiked together. Chad’s romantic proposal
was one for the ages! The two were visiting Fiji at the time, and after a
cruise around the Yasawa Islands, Chad surprised Josephine by taking
her to luxury hotel Vomo. They spent the next day scuba diving, hiking,
and kayaking, before making their way to a private dinner on the beach,
all arranged by Chad. It was here that he proposed. Josephine designed
her own engagement ring based off a design by Alexandra Mor. It was
produced by Uptown Diamonds in Houston, Texas.
On their wedding day, Josephine got ready at the Kimpton Seafire
Resort + Spa, while Chad prepared for the ceremony at the Caribbean
Club. Wanting their wedding to feel as calm and relaxing as the Carib-
bean Sea, light blues accented with rose gold were used throughout the
ceremony and reception, both of which were held at Grand Old House.
Helen Cernigliaro provided makeup application services and
Sandy McCombs from The Salon Cayman provided hair styling
services. In search of the perfect wedding dress, Josephine visited The
White Dress in Southern California with her mother-in-law and grand-
mother. Initially visiting to see a particular designer, the ladies ended
up meeting Alon Livné instead, who was having a trunk show featuring
his new collection. Josephine fell in love with the designer’s dresses
and ultimately said “yes” to an Alon Livné gown that had an “old school
Hollywood” feeling.
