Cristin thought John was cute and a mutual friend intro- duced the two, who promptly added each other on Facebook. However, they had to wait a few weeks before they could meet again because John flew to the UK to visit family the following day. Leading up to the proposal, Cristin noticed John was stressed and so she planned a relaxing staycation in Rum Point for the weekend. Little did she know, John wasn’t stressed out from work, but from searching for the perfect engagement ring with Cristin’s mother. While in Rum Point, John suggested they wake up to see the sunrise the following morning, as watching the sun rise from the East End is some- thing Cristin had always wanted to do. The couple awoke in the wee hours of the morning and drove to the Wreck of the Ten Sail lookout point, only to find cloudy skies. Just when they were about to give up hope, the sun came piercing through the clouds, revealing the most beautiful sunrise. While Cristin was busy snapping pictures, John unveiled a bottle of champagne and a picnic basket that he had hid in the car earlier that morning. “It’s a bit early to start day-drinking isn’t it?”, asked Cristin. It was at this moment that she realized John may be proposing. Just then, he pulled her close, dropped down on one knee, and asked her to be his wife. Wishing for a tropical glam wedding that was true to Cayman, laid- back accents and lots of local greenery and details were paired with pops of gold and a soft, neutral color palette.
