Who is Daniel Quinlan? Meet Daniel Quinlan My grandfather was an accomplished painter and I guess I can credit him for getting me started. I started painting in high school and then stopped for many years until I encountered the great masterpieces from some of Europe’s most famous artists. I made several return trips to Amsterdam to study the work of the Impressionists and Postimpressionists. After suffering eight years of pain caused by a pinched sciatic nerve, my wife and I moved to Tanzania in East Africa. Tired of the effects of painkillers, I gave them up and started painting again as a way to take my mind off of the pain.
