the world is Carpinteria, where we camped frequently. It’s such a quiet little town right between the beach and mountains. It almost reminded me of my hometown. The sunrises and sunsets were the highlights of my day. They were absolutely mesmerizing and I got to see all of this with the love of my life. California is a magical place but it was also terrifying for me a first. Millions of people gather on the highways throughout the day flying at outrageous speeds and the build up of traffic can make you want to pull your hair out. Every morning we could hear the traffic roaring from our apartment. For the first few months I got lost on one highway to the next. The lineup at about every surf spot gives you just enough space to squirm in with the rest of the crowd. And the cost of living is not cheap. All of these things were not easy to adjust to. I had a lot of weak moments where I missed home and missed my family. Some days they frustrated me and tore me apart. They were so humbling and even the weakest points gave me growth. L O V E L E T T E R We made a lot of memories in San Diego. I made so many great friends, that showed me so many great places. My friend Jillian, who is now a dear friend, actually got me to do acro-yoga with her down at Ocean Beach. Every week Jillian took me to one place or another so I could experience something new.
