NOW BUMMIN’ IT IN PANA MA WITH EJ BARACCO & NICK MCLOOTA T R AV E L SLEEP EJ // It was a lot. We flew in from Fort Lauderdale to Panama City. Then had to taxi 30 minutes to another airport where we caught a puddle jumper straight to the island. Really cool plane ride into the islands. EJ // Our first month we stayed at this bed and breakfast on Bastimentos. The owners were super nice, we loved it. Breakfast included as well, but 45 minute jungle walk to the nearest break which was fun...occasionally. In town, we had a cool little spot close to everything. I can’t remember the name of the place but five of us slept there for a month and it was fine. Nick // I flew from Wilmington, NC to Fort Lauderdale. Then EJ picked me up and we spent the night on a sailboat. Then I just traveled on down with him. 136 Nick // So the sleeping situtation sucked for a little while. When I first got to town, I had an Air BnB. And it was on Bastimentos Island. If we wanted to go into town, we had to take a boat. It was sick though, the guy we were staying with just ended up flying to America and giving us his condo for a month. The place ran on 100% self sustained, solar panels and a wind generator. The fans would go off at 3 am everyday to power the house through the night. And then we got an apartment for three weeks with AC. And it was cool and all but it got broken into at one point. And the owner blamed us for leaving the door open, which was not true. So that was crazy and kinda sucked. And then we fianlly found these apartments called Sea Haven. Everyone had a place to sleep, a few were on the floor but it was by a main road so we could get taxis to surf breaks whenever we wanted.
