YFU SUPPORT
SYSTEM
To ensure a successful exchange for your family and
the student, YFU provides you with a team of dedicated
volunteers and staff. Right from the start, we are there to
answer all your questions and assist in the selection of your
student. Throughout the exchange, your volunteer checks in
to make sure things are going well and provide support.
All volunteers are trained to help you and your student
successfully navigate cross-cultural adjustments and
challenges. If issues arise and your volunteer is unavailable,
other resources are available. Trained, professional staff are
ready to support your family and student 24-hours a day, 365
days a year.
YFU is committed to high standards of program quality and
participant safety and has been a leader in exchange programming
SAFETY
10 - YFU Hosting
since our founding in 1951. Our organizational structure includes
numerous safety nets and layers of protection to ensure student and
family welfare. We enforce rigorous standards for host family screening
and selection. These include in-home interviews, reference checks and
criminal background checks. YFU USA conducts participant orientation
programs to educate both students and host families about personal
safety and ensures monthly contact by trained representatives to
supervise and support participants while they are on program. All staff
and volunteers are subject to an annual criminal background check and
follow a code of conduct.
