Suzuki leads the market
in 2016, with its small
car offerings outselling other popular Japanese brands. The drop in sales may be attributed to general market uncertainty as its main offerings have infact benefited from the duty changes.
Loss of share may
continue due to popular offerings such as the Prius and Axio see dramatic price increases. SUVs will also suffer, further tightening Toyota’s belt.

models such as the Vezel benefitted from the changed duty process, which may help increase Honda’s market share.
Micro’s small car small engine offerings may benefit from recent develop–ments, potentially securing its position in the top 5.
May saw a dramatic
increase in sales for
Audi, the release of several new models, including the A4 pushed the brand temporarily into the top 10. Registration dropped from 75 in May to 26 in June, implying that the sales boom may not be sustained.
While Nissan saw a large
drop in sales in June, the
Leaf may become a key offering in the market as favourable duty rates and improving infrastructure increase the car’s market enticement.
These three players remain in the lower half of the top ten, but have managed to sustain relative stability, despite the market volatility.
