Early Learning Program: Gumnuts & Prep
Carinya Tamworth offers an outstanding Early Learning Program
for 3 and 4 year olds, in the two years before they commence
full-time, formal schooling.
The Gumnuts program for 3 year olds and the Kindergarten
Preparatory Class (Prep) for 4 year olds, develops an appreciation
and enjoyment of the world God has made, and stimulates your
child’s natural imagination, curiosity and eagerness to learn.
The curriculum for each age group flows from a play based
program of instruction, that explores themes and ideas arising
from the world God has given us to enjoy. In the second half of
the year in Prep, students are introduced to formal
pre-writing and pre-numeracy skills, they make regular visits to
the Kindergarten room, to meet their teachers and prepare for
the transition to full time school the following year.
Your Gumnuts and Prep child will benefit from the stimulating
learning environment of a real school community, and you will
appreciate access to the professional staff of a modern, fully
equipped school. Together these provide your child with the
consistency and security they need to enjoy their early learning
experiences and ensure a smooth transition to Kindergarten.
