Running for Carers Wales will not only
raise money for the charity but it will also
help in our goal of raising awareness of
carers to those who have yet to identify
themselves in their caring role.

Carers NI held their first ever Dragonboat Race
in Belfast on the Friday of Carers Week; it was a
fantastic day and several teams have already
said they want to come back and do it again
next year! 8 teams competed but only one
could win; the inaugural trophy went to local
business Convergys who managed to row the
200m in 55 seconds. We’re reliably informed
that this was pretty fast! Runners-up were
Puppet IT, whose team was organised by one
of Carers NI’s volunteers. Donations are still
coming in, but we expect to raise over £5,000 in
total! Big thanks also go to those who provided
donations that helped make the day a real
success: Makro & Brooker Brothers, Odyssey
Bowl, Ulster Rodgy, Tesco and Anytime Fitness.
There’s talk of doing it all again next year...
