This is caring
Creative
writing
competition
Our fifth creative writing competition is now open for entries. Whether
you’re an experienced writer or are just beginning to express yourself
through words, we’d love to hear from you.
As usual, we welcome your poems and
short stories on all aspects of caring, but
for 2018 we’d particularly like to receive
entries on the theme of ‘keeping well,
keeping connected’. For example, you may
want to explore some aspect of physical or
mental health, or write about making new
friendships.
We are really pleased that Cheryl Moskowitz
will be judging the competition for the fifth
year running. Cheryl is a poet, novelist,
translator, and a facilitator of writing for
children and adults.
The winning and commended poems and
stories will be announced in September
2018 and we will then produce an anthology
of these, plus selected entries chosen by our
staff, volunteers and trustees, in November.
We also plan to hold another celebration
event for the competition and will celebrate
the winning entries in regional and local
media across the UK.
Our 2018 competition is once again
supported by Specsavers and in association
with The Poetry Society and The Reading
Agency.
