Interview
Our applicants come from all over the U . S ., so we conduct interviews in a variety of ways . Preliminary interviews are done through Skype and you will be in touch with several people from our recruiting and operations departments . Each conversation helps us learn about you , but is also designed to give you plenty of time to ask questions and become acquainted with the culture and expectations of American Cruise Lines .
Drug Test
Everyone has to do it . You will have to take a drug test required by the U . S . Coast Guard , and passing is essential . Failing the test can impact future jobs as well , so if you have questions , please ask beforehand .
Training
Training is a multi-day course ( depending on your position ) to give you the skills needed to be successful at American Cruise Lines and in your career . It also is designed to give you an understanding of the company ’ s values and what life is like aboard our ships .
Going Shipboard
After successfully completing training , you are deployed to a ship . Many people will go from training straight to the ship . If you want to go home first , just let us know and we will work to accommodate your schedule .
