The reduction in cardiovascular mortality in Chinese
patients who ate 100mg of fruit per day. The
study, which looked mainly at apple and orange
consumption, also found that eating fruit was
associated with lower blood pressure and lower
blood glucose.

Depression More
Common in Heart
Attack Patients
14%
The percentage of heart attack patients found to
have symptoms of depression, versus 7% of those
who had never had a heart attack. Symptoms of
depression or exhaustion were associated with a
doubled risk of heart attack. Only 16% of depressed
heart attack patients with prescribed antidepressants, compared with 42% of depressed people
who had not had a heart attack.

Requirements
The number of states that require elementary school students to take physical education classes
Lacking
for a set amount of time, with only 15 requiring the same for middle school students. Oregon and

time of 150 minutes per week for elementary school students and 225 minutes for older children.
