PCB Annual Business Awards
Every year , the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business ( PCB ) recognises local companies and individuals who have excelled in business . The naming of these standout examples of excellence is the highlight of the PCB ’ s annual banquet , a glittering affair attended by hundreds . At the end of 2016 , awards were presented for Business of the Year , Medium Enterprise of the Year , Small Business of the Year , and Champion Entrepreneur of the Year . A special award was also given to Pravashen Naidoo of EWaste Africa ( featured elsewhere in this publication ), who , although not a winner of the main awards categories , “ exhibited a spirit of entrepreneurship that could and should not go unacknowledged ”, the judges felt . Business of the Year awards were divided into awards for the Services Sector , Manufacturing Sector and State-Owned Enterprises .
