Team Giving N ENGAGING VOLUNTEERS TO SUPPORT NONPROFITS onprofits are always looking for volunteer help, and volunteers would do more of it if they knew the need and how to help fill it. Now, thanks to Team Giving, the two have an easier time finding each other. Team Giving has an innovative, hands on approach to volunteerism that matches businesses, individuals, and service clubs with nonprofits that are addressing local community needs. Simply put, Team Giving is matchmaking with purpose: Inspire compassion and promote giving in the greater Sacramento area. “We are offering a simple and coordinated path where volunteers can find their passion and make that connection. We take all the busy work out of it, efficiently supporting both the volunteers and non-profits in a collaborative style.” said co-founders Trudy Harris and Cynthia Woods. On the nonprofit side, organizations of any size can ask for help at one- time events, in ongoing roles, and for special projects. “The hardest part for us was finding where to give,” said Brian Dickerson of Keller Williams in Elk Grove, who volunteered to organize their annual “Red Day” service project.  “We let Team Giving know what kind of project we were looking for and they found it for us.”  By securing the help of Team Giving, an all-day work service event took place at Project RIDE, a local nonprofit, and the Keller Williams volunteers saved Project RIDE an estimated six months of labor. In their first 18 months of operations, Team Giving has made a tremendous impact facilitating the TEAMGIVING.ORG / 916.824.2118 matching of volunteers with the needs of nonprofits by providing more than 6,000 hours of coordinated services to more than 55 nonprofits. “Team Giving volunteers made a world of difference,” said Patti Vitas, Board President, Boys & Girls Club of Placer County.
