All students 13.00- 14.00 KLT5 Starting out as a writer – a long short story A UKC Alumna on the verge of being published, Sarah Banville has been writing since taking the Playwriting module in her BA Drama in 1994! The lecture will be an exposition of how her book came about and what to do if you want to write. All students 13.00- 16.00 Billhook Nook, Brotherhood Woods Cutting it down and cutting it up: basic timber processing This event will consist of the felling and processing of one or more trees using traditional forestry tools. Note: sturdy/safety shoes (some available to borrow) – and old/work clothes required. Conservation students but open to all 14.00- 15.10 KS4 The Employability Points Scheme: What is it all about? This bitesize interactive session will offer the students the chance to find out further information about the University of Kent’s unique Employability Points Scheme. This will include information on how to earn points, log points and ultimately, get rewarded!
