These self-guided trails are a variety of lengths
and can be paddled at your leisure. If you don’t
have your own equipment why not try canoe hire?
All these trails are described as one way trips. If you cannot arrange
a vehicle shutter you can do them as out and back journeys.
Bridgewater Canal:
Little Bollington to
Keckwick Hill Bridge
Canoe through rural Cheshire along the first canal
in England to be built under an Act of Parliament.
The small towns and villages bordering the canal
bring much of the charm to this trail. Daresbury
was home to Lewis Carroll where his father was
once the local vicar. The trail finishes at the pretty
Keckwick Hill Bridge where parking can easily be
found in lay-bys.
