Dear Family and Friends,

Welcome to the New Year (32 days in)! Are we sticking to those New Year's Resolutions? I'll be honest; I did not make any this year. And now that I think about it, I didn't make any last year. What I have done the past 2 years is made a list of goals that I wanted to achieve throughout the year. I've known others to make 12 mini resolutions to achieve monthly. For example, let's say you want to starting flossing your teeth; in the month of February make a goal to floss your teeth daily for 28 days (not 365 days). At the end of 28 days, there is no pressure to continue and for the next month you'll start your next mini resolution. However, the theory behind it is that you will have "created a habit" without committing yourself to a daunting 365 days.

It's not so much the time that I'd like to address as much as the quality in these resolutions, goals, habits, etc. Are we genuine and authentic in better ourselves in the mind, body and spirit? Most resolutions include weight loss, financial gain, and/or material gain. Mine did. While these type of resolutions aren't bad, they are also not reflective of the whole person.

In this issue we address holistic health; what it means, how to implement it and cannabis infused practices. In holistic medicine, a variety of therapies are used in treating the interconnection of the whole body; an individual's overall physical, mental, spiritual and emotional well-being are assessed before treatment as opposed to solely treating the illness. The emphasis is placed on disease and illness prevention by strongly advocating for optimal health by balancing the mind, body and spirit. It is in this state of balance-homeostasis- that we achieve optimal health.

Unfortunately, we live in a time of great imbalance. Chronic diseases, pollutants, chemicals, and daily stress all play a role in disturbing that balance. Holistic healing practices such as aroma-therapy,

massage therapy, naturopathic medicine, nutrition,

yoga and more each offer unique skills and knowledge

to restore that balance.

New Year's Resolution-er or not, the new year

provides an opportunity for introspection and

re-evaluation for not necessarily a longer life but a

fulfilling life.

Wishing you Peace, Health and Prosperity,
