The explosive growth of the hemp-derived CBD product category has also created further need for an educated professional and consumer audience. With CBD products available on retail shelves, online, in multi-level marketing programs and by your best friend; it has created a chaotic marketplace that requires the voice of reason. Everyone is asking the same questions: What do I buy? In what format? For what condition? How much do I take? How do I evaluate a good product from a lousy one? These are the answers a competent

practitioner must provide, especially if selling CBD products in their practice.

A new and welcomed change among large scale, multi-state cannabis companies who are vertically integrated (meaning, they cultivate, extract and sell at retail), is the realization and willingness for a more

educated staff in retail dispensaries. This opens up the opportunity for cannabis competent practitioners to get referrals from dispensaries or to provide on-site counseling services for customers. One of our students

landed exactly such an arrangement with a Washington dispensary. And others report positive feedback from dispensary managers once they’ve explained the details of their holistic cannabis practitioner training.

While our students are finding success in the marketplace, we’re delighted to have our program

recognized in other ways. We now have continuing education credits granted from several nutrition and

health coach organizations in the US and Canada. And Forbes magazine recently included the Academy in their round up of the top places to get a cannabis education.

This new frontier in healthcare is quite unlike anything else because of its far-reaching implications of the endocannabinoid system for so many different chronic health conditions. More and more research is indicating how valuable this plant can be to maintain wellness, not just to mitigate disease.
