CANNAHEALTH An Overview of Cannabis | Page 10

Beginning the journey to understanding medical cannabis can be confusing and overwhelming to say the least. So let's break it down to the basics. I’m sure we have all wondered how are THC/CBD medicines able to treat a variety of diseases and disorders? The answer is very simply: EVERY human being is born with an Endocannabinoid System otherwise referred to as your ECS or EC. The ECS is a group of cannabinoid receptors located in your brain and throuhout your body. When you ingest CBD/THC in any form it activates these receptors providing your body with the natural boost it needs to help fight off symptoms and often times begin to “heal” itself.

The terms on the next page are specifically related to the medical cannabis patient in order to help “weed” out the information that is necessary for patient safety and knowledge.
