In State of California there are ways that you can get a cannabis recommendation without even leaving your home, if you have a computer. There are several online medical recommendation doctor that can be found. Once you have your medical cannabis recommendation you should be provided a list of dispensaries, for walk-in or home deliveries. I’ve tried home delivery, several times, from various delivery services and I haven’t had a bad experience yet. They give you the option to meet outside your home, or inside. I’ve tried both and I was very comfortable with both methods. I suggest that you use either Weedmaps or Leafly for assistance in locating a dispensary, or delivery service, near you.

I recently visited three dispensaries, in Berkeley California, with my friend Chardaney. We wanted to research what they had to offer for Seniors. What I found out was that there is a program, at Berkeley Patient’s Group called Helping Hands. Helping Hands Patients are eligible to received two eighths (7 grams) of cannabis flowers per week and they get to choose a combination of indica, sativa or high-CBD flowers. Unfortunately the program is closed, for now, and will not begin accepting new applications until November 20, 2017.

Until next time………...

feelings of anxiety or grumpiness, changes of sleep patterns, changing in eating habits and thoughts of suicide. Popular treatments, within western medicine, are “the use of antidepressant medications such as Prozac, Lexapro, Zoloft and others”. However, “many are turning to cannabis for relief from depression because it enhances mood and well being”. Did you know that in the early 17th century Indian doctors used cannabis as a treatment for depression? Dr. Potter points out that “cannabis stimulates the body’s endocannabinoid system, hastens the development of nervous tissue, boosts energy, improves focus and decreases anxiety”. Studies from Montreal’s McGill University show that “low doses of THC generate the happy chemical known as Serotonin within the brain”. Some seniors may choose to consume through inhalation, eating or tinctures but it is important to make sure that the dose of THC is low, in order to benefit from the cannabinoids in the plant.
