The State of California County Commercial Cannabis Regulation

All eyes of this fine Country are on this Nation’s most populous state which legalized cannabis for adult use purposes on November 8th, 2016. If done properly, California's Regulatory Framework could be used as a model; not just for other states, but for other countries as well. With 58 Counties and 482 Cities. there is enough movement regarding regulatory implementation to keep

every attorney and consultant in this

space busy for years to come.

“Local control” was an issue that legalization opponents fought hard to protect and they won that fight. This means that cities and counties have retained the right to impose their own

cannabis regulations instead of accepting

the will of California’s voters as a

whole. It is such a huge issue for
