CANNABIS

The Music

The musical line-up, for the NorCal Show was

really practically perfect for the location. Santa

Rosa, and the surrounding area, is known for it’s

laid back vibe and the music definitely represented

that feel. The first night (Saturday) was opened with

Fortunate Youth, a SoCal Reggae band, and led into a

set by the band 311. The next day (Sunday) opened with

The Tahoes, a local reggae band. You might remember

their song “Hella NorCal” was the music for last month’s

video in the Cannabis Events section. After was Arden Park

Roots, local to the Sacramento area. After a short break, and

the awards ceremony, the next band was, a favorite of mine,

The Wailers. This band is simply amazing live! You could hardly

help but to sway to the sounds of Buffalo Soldier and Get Up

Stand Up as the light scent of hindu skunk wafted through the

building. They had a great set that prepared the crowd for the one and only Sublime with Rome. I have to admit that I had been waiting to see Sublime, since about 1993, and Rome is really a great fit to complete this band. I cannot complain, at all, about the musical line-up for this year’s NorCal Cannabis Cup. All great and talented artists sharing their love for music and cannabis.

The CUP

Next up you will find the

winners of the NorCal Cannabis Cup, who will ultimately go

on to compete in Jamaica in October 17' 2017.
