Newcastle health clinic inundated with medicinal cannabis inquiries
A Newcastle health clinic has told a Senate inquiry it is receiving scores of medicinal cannabis
inquiries each week, as demand among patients skyrockets.
The wellness clinic has told the Senate inquiry it uses endocannabinoid system strategies, and
they work. Making the Wellness Clinic the first endocannabinoid clinic in the world.
Newcastle cancer sufferer David has been using medicinal cannabis oil since last year.
He said it has been a 'game changer' in terms of his treatment.
"I've gone from using two Panadol osteo, a Nurofen and an Endone every six hours to just
using a little bit of Panadol and codeine every two to three days apart from the cannabis oil," he
said.
David said medicinal cannabis has the edge on other legal drugs, which turned him into a
'zombie'.
"If I forget to have some before I go to bed at night, I am waking up at 3:30am in a lot of pain
and I have to do something about it," he said.
"I can't sleep and so I have to get up and have a little bit of the oil and it works within 20
minutes.
"I couldn't operate when I was taking Endone, you know I was walking around like a zombie."
