DON’T GO TOO LONG
BETWEEN MEALS
Your body is stressed enough from your
caloric restriction and high level of work
output. If you go too long without eating in
this state, you run the risk of making your
body think it is starving and in an elevated
state of stress.
This is a big stressor for your body and will
cause your body’s primal instincts to kick in.
To survive, your body needs food so it
prepares you to hunt. You become gradually
more aggressive and hostile. And in this state,
you can become someone that others don’t
want to be around.
Save yourself and those around you from the
increased stress and don’t go too long
(beyond 3.5-4 hrs) or miss your meals. A fed
baby is a happy baby, and this applies to
adults too.
BOOK YOUR
APPOINTMENTS
SOONER
I don’t recommend leaving anything to the last minute,
especially when booking appointments for hair, make-
up, and tan. Not only it is less to worry about as the show
draws near but booking earlier should give you best
choice for appointments.
For athlete registration, I know promoters really
appreciate athletes who register early. That’s why most
offer early registration discounts. Save yourself some
money and worry, and register early. If you are travelling
to compete, then add booking your hotel and flight to
you to-do list early. For many of the Pro Qualifying and
National shows, host hotels do get fully booked, so book
early.
