MAKE A BUDGET
Let’s admit it, competing is expensive. Paying
for your prep coach, suit, shoes, hair, make-up,
tan, registration, and so on all adds up. As
they say, “You gotta pay to play”, so before you
start your contest preparation, ensure you
have the financial resources necessary to pay
for what you need.
HIRE THE RIGHT
PREP COACH FOR
YOU
Every coach has a different approach, so you
must find one that you mesh with. The last
person that should bring you stress is your
coach. So, chose wisely. To help you hire the
right coach for you, please check the February
2019 issue of the CPA Newsletter for my
article on this exact topic.
ADJUSTMENTS TO
YOUR PLAN MUST BE
GRADUAL AND
PROGRESSIVE
Nothing shocks your body and spikes cortisol
more than a big change in diet, in training
volume, or intensity, or worse - both. The best
way to minimize the stress from diet and
training changes is to decrease calories or
increase work output in small increments,
gradually over time, and only when needed. If
you are still progressing, why take away more
calories or increase your workload? Like the
saying goes, “If it isn’t broken, don’t try to fix it.”
