STEP OFF STAGE

So you have completed your first competition, or maybe
you thirty-first competition. You likely have a
list of foods and activities that you have been waiting
weeks to enjoy. From the moment you step off
that stage you have entered the off season; regardless of
your outcome, the improvements to the
package you bring to your next competition begin NOW.
The following three steps are non-negotiables
post competition.
EAT THE
BURGER
Yes, you heard me
correctly. Show prep is
physically challenging
and more
importantly
emotionally taxing.
Competitors have a
tendency to struggle
with restrictive eating
and a poor relationship
with food after weeks of
dieting. Enjoying a
meal with loved ones to
celebrate your hard
work is important to
your mental wellbeing.
HYDRATE CLEAN YOUR
LIVER
Hydrate, with more
than water. You will
need fluids but in this
depleted state it is
essential that
electrolytes are present
to get that water to your
cells (if not you will
simply pee this all out).
Chose a high quality
electrolyte powder
without sweeteners or
dyes. Coconut water, a
pinch of
sea salt and baking soda
are a great D-I-Y. This one is not a quick
fix. Most retail liver
support supplements
work on phase
I liver detox and
neglect the important
phase II. Work with a
professional who can
take you
through a liver support
protocol safely.
