NUTRIENTS THAT ARE
BENEFICIAL IN KEEPING THE
DIGESTIVE SYSTEM THRIVING
I couldn’t possibly name every
nutrient in a single article! But,
here are just 3 of my favourites
that I believe all competitors
should be aware of:
PROBIOTICS
Yes, yes of course a Holistic
Nutritionist is recommending
probiotics; but I’m not
exclusively talking about the
crazy expensive concentrated
pills.
Yes, when you’re sick or have
been taking medications like
antibiotics, it’s definitely a great
item to consider to help
repopulate the gut with
beneficial (PRO) bacteria
(biotics) to help maintain a
balanced microbiome so we can
digest and absorb nutrients
that we need to continue to get
healthy. But things we
can incorporate year round are
foods that have long been in our
history; like sauerkraut, kefir,
and kombucha! They offer us
naturally occurring bacteria that
are supportive of our digestive
systems
