Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour auctioned off 130 instruments, including some of his most iconic guitars, at Christie’s in New York on June 20, 2019. In total, the auction raised $21,490,750 USD that Gilmour says will go to ClientEarth, which funds environmental lawyers and experts who combat climate change. Included in the auction was Gilmour’s most famous guitar, the customized “Black Strat” he used on all Pink Floyd albums and tours since the 1970s, which was bought by NFL team owner Jim Irsay for a record-breaking $3,975,000. Gord Bamford’s Charity Golf Tournament Raises $465,755 for Children’s Charities The Gord Bamford Foun- dation has announced that $464,755 was raised during GORD BAMFORD & MAKE-A-WISH RECIPIENT ABBY the Canadian country sing- er’s 12 th annual Charity Golf Classic, surpassing a fundraising milestone of over $4 million raised to date for children’s charities across Canada. Held in Red Deer, AB, in August 2019, the event also saw its first ever live pledge drive that raised $76,000 for the featured charity, the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre (CACAC). “This event all started as a dream back in 2008, to support local charities and children in central Alberta,” explains Bamford. “Over time, we’ve seen the impact these monies can have to support groups such as the CACAC, Make-A-Wish Foundation, MusiCounts, and countless other organizations so they can fulfill their dreams.
