CMRRA & YouTube Reach Canadian Licensing Agreement
The Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency ( CMRRA ) has finalized a licensing agreement with YouTube for Canada . This marks the first major agreement for reproduction rights between YouTube and the CMRRA in the Canadian territory .
The CMRRA is licensing the copies of audiovisual content made by You- Tube in the course of delivering that content to users . It will be collecting royalties on YouTube advertising revenue on its existing free platform , as well as on subscription revenues on any subscription services it brings to Canada , such as YouTube Red . The agreement also covers YouTube ’ s Electronic Sell Through ( EST ) and Transactional Video-On-Demand ( TVOD ) services .

DEAN BRODY AT THE 2016 CCMA AWARDS
Brett Kissel & Dean Brody Lead CCMA Winners
The 2016 Canadian Country Music Association ( CCMA ) Awards Show celebrated eight award categories on Sept . 11 th at Budweiser Gardens in London , ON .
The night had two multiple winners : Brett Kissel and Dean Brody . Kissel took home the Fans ’ Choice and Male Artist of the Year awards , his first time winning each , while Brody took home the Single of the Year and CMT Video of the Year awards , both for his song “ Bring Down The House .” Gord Bamford received Album of the Year for Tin Roof , his third time receiving this accolade . Saskatchewan ’ s Jess Moskaluke took home her third consecutive CCMA Award for Female Artist of the Year , and Group or Duo of the Year went to the brothers of High Valley for the second year in a row . The CCMA Award for Rising Star went to The Washboard Union .
The evening ’ s performers included Gord Bamford , Dean Brody , Chad Brownlee , Terri Clark , Cold Creek County , Tim Hicks with Colin James , High Valley , Brett Kissel with Carolyn Dawn Johnson , Madeline Merlo , Jess Moskaluke , and Johnny Reid .
