Billed as a “ chaotic monosynth ,” it uses a new oscillator technique to create previously-unheard sounds . Pendulate is based on the physics of a double pendulum – what initially looks like randomness contains underlying patterns , interconnectedness , constant feedback loops , repetition , self-similarity , fractals , and self-organization . In the 1970s , legendary producer and ambient musician Brian Eno , along with multimedia artist Peter Schmidt , created Oblique Strategies . It was a card-based method for promoting creativity and encouraging users to think differently . Canadian electronic music superstar deadmau5 has publicly launched OSC / PILOT – a bi-directional control surface application originally built as a performance tool for digital artists and musicians . The custom-made application was used for years by deadmau5 on tour as his control surface for shows . It creates interoperability between the artist ’ s audio and visual applications ( Ableton Live , TouchDesigner , Max MSP , Processing , Bitwig , etc .), allowing digital audio and visual artists to control the content of any space with data from any other space .
