HOT GEAR LP5513-S SALSA SNARE Latin Percussion Salsa Snares Latin Percussion has introduced the stainless-steel Salsa Snares. Developed to meet the sonic desires and quality demands of salsa timbaleros, the snares are equally suited for rock, pop, and many other styles of music. The new Salsa Snares are constructed from the same stainless steel as the LP Timbales and fitted with prestige- style stainless steel rims, eight lugs, and a 24-strand snare wire. The company describes the Salsa Snares’ sound as cutting and bright with a sharp at- tack, which complements any timbales or drum set-up. There are two shell sizes: 5.5 x 13 in. (LP5513-S) and 4.5 x 12 in. (LP4512-S). For more information, contact B&J Music: 800-268-8147, [email protected], www.bjmusiconline.com. PEAVEY MAX 208 Peavey Max Series Bass Amps Peavey has introduced the Max Series bass amps, which are designed to be durable but ultra-lightweight in their construction. One of the key features in the Max series is the angled baffle, which allows players to direct the sound at their ears and not at their feet. While the low-end is omni-directional, the transient is direc- tional, meaning players can hear them- selves clearly without having to tilt their amp back. The sound is combined with an improved power-to-weight ratio. The Max Series includes: the Max 100, which features a 10-in. woofer and deliv- ers 100 W while measuring 15.5 in. wide by 11.75 in. high by 17.5 in. deep; the Max 150, which has a 12-in. woofer and delivers 150 W while measuring 16.25 x 12.25 x 18.5 in.; the Max 250, which has a 15-in. woofer with high-end tweeter and delivers 250 W while measuring 18.25 x 13.5 x 21 in.; and the Max 208, which has two 8-in. woofers and delivers 150 W, measures 10 x 20 x 10 in., and weighs 33 lbs.
